England captain Jos Buttler has called the Dharamshala outfield “poor” and questioned whether it will have an impact on Tuesday’s World Cup match against Bangladesh.

Because of concerns about the uneven, sand-based outfield, England has rarely practiced on it before the match.

Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott claimed spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman was fortunate to avoid serious damage after his knee dug into the ground while slipping in a match on Saturday at the same venue.

“You are going to have to be a little bit smart as fielders and a little bit careful, which isn’t something you want to be when you are playing for your country,” Buttler was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
