Even though Aston Villa tried to sign Leeds winger Jack Harrison at the last minute, Everton took him on loan instead.

Everton has signed English winger Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United for the whole season.

Aston Villa tried to sign the 26-year-old player at the last minute, but on Monday, he passed a test with Everton.

Everton said that he will keep getting better from a small hip injury before he is ready to play.

Harrison is the fourth player to join Everton this summer. Ashley Young, Arnaut Danjuma, and Youssef Chermiti are the others.

When Villa found out that Harrison’s injury would keep him out for a month, which was longer than they thought, they lost interest.

Harrison joined Leeds for £11m in 2021. He had been on loan at the club from Manchester City since 2018.

In April, just before Leeds were sent back to the Championship, he signed a new five-year deal with the team.

Everton’s first game of the season was a 1-0 loss at home to Fulham. They have also been in talks to sign 19-year-old Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds, but haven’t reached a deal for him yet.

The winger from Italy has turned down Leeds, and the club has started disciplinary action against Gnonto.

Everton is also interested in getting Beto, a 25-year-old striker from Portugal who plays for Serie A team Udinese. However, talks are not far along yet.
