Mason Mount, who recently transferred from Chelsea to Manchester United, is confident that he made the correct decision.

On Tuesday, the England international posted a video to social media in which he spoke directly to his fans.

Mount has signed a five-year contract with United for a total of £55 million (plus £5 million in add-ons).

The midfielder has been with Chelsea since he was six years old, and he knows that some of the club’s die-hard fans would be disappointed.

The 24-year-old player announced, “I’ve decided to leave Chelsea.”

To express my appreciation for your help over the past 18 years, I wanted to give you more than a written letter.

Some of you won’t like this, but it’s the best move for me professionally right now.

Mount also acknowledged the Chelsea academy, the coaching staff, his former teammates, and the managers he’s played for (Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter) since making his professional debut.

What can Manchester United expect from English midfielder Mason Mount?
Chelsea initially turned down three offers from United for Mount before finally agreeing on a price.

United’s qualification for the Champions League in the upcoming season has prompted Erik ten Hag to begin bolstering his squad by making his first signing of the summer.

Mount missed the conclusion of the domestic season with an injury despite scoring 33 goals in 195 games for Chelsea since his debut in 2019. This was the Blues’ lowest Premier League result in more than 25 years.

Mount was a starter for the 2021 Champions League-winning Chelsea team and scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City. With the Blues, he also took home the Fifa Club World Cup and the Uefa Super Cup.

Like N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mateo Kovacic before him, he will be the next Chelsea player to leave the club this summer.
