The ‘jingle and mingle’ party hosted by the Tories has been the subject of a police investigation.

The Conservative Party HQ Christmas party was the subject of a reopened investigation by the Metropolitan Police regarding possible violations of Covid restrictions.

The Sunday Mirror released video from the event, which featured an invitation to “jingle and mingle” among the staff.

The police have stated that they would not look into reports of illegal gatherings at Boris Johnson’s Chequers residence.

However, they are currently looking into something that happened on December 8, 2020, in Parliament.

Conservative backbencher Sir Bernard Jenkin was allegedly implicated, per the Guido Fawkes website.

Sir Bernard is a member of the Commons Privileges Committee, which issued a scathing report about Mr. Johnson just last month.

Sir Bernard was repeatedly sought after for response at the time the allegation first surfaced.

Virginia Crosbie, a member of the Conservative Party, has also apologized for her presence at the event given the current Covid limitations.

The Ynys Mon representative said she did not send out invitations, but she acknowledged the event did take place.
