Victor Osimhen: Striker’s agent threatens Napoli with legal action after a social media post

On their TikTok account, Napoli posted a video of the striker missing a penalty against Bologna, with a high-pitched voice shouting “gimme penalty please” dubbed over the top.

The post was later removed.

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor,” Calenda posted to X.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official TikTok profile is unacceptable.”

“A video mocking Victor was made public and then, belatedly, removed.” A major fact that causes significant harm to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy has had in the intervening period between media trials and fake news.”

When Osimhen was substituted in the 86th minute of Sunday’s goalless draw with Bologna, he was spotted challenging manager Rudi Garcia.

Nigeria international Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a club-record 81.3 million euros, and he was instrumental in the club’s first Serie A victory in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league games.

The 24-year-old, who was linked with Chelsea and Manchester United earlier this summer, has three goals in six games this season.

He has been chosen to Napoli’s 24-man squad for the Serie A encounter against Udinese on Wednesday.
